My scope of practice includes individuals and families suffering from or dealing with:
• Depression • Anxiety • Grief and loss • Teen issues • Low self esteem • Life transitions • Parenting and Co-Parenting • ADD and learning challenges • Separation and divorce • Marriage and couples counseling
I also specialize in working with athletes in terms of performance improvement and anxiety. My goal with my clients is to provide a safe environment where we can work together to set treatment goals that fit each individual’s needs.
My approach to treatment is an integrated approach using mainly cognitive behavioral therapy interventions along with the teachings of Mindfulness. I believe that we are capable of enhancing our lives and decreasing stress and unhappiness by using our given nature and allowing our thinking process to become more healthy. The use of “mindfulness” teaches the client to become present in their lives as well as to embrace gratitude in living.
I am trained in the Family Systems approach to treatment which is incorporated with family therapy.
My practice is limited to ages 12 and above. I do not treat substance abuse as a presenting problem as it is not my area of expertise.
